Mental Health Practitioner

Amy Crompton

Hello! My name is Amy and I am a Mental Health Practitioner at Anxend.

I am currently studying an MSc in Early Child Development and Clinical Applications at UCL and before that I studied a BSc in Neuroscience at the University of Leeds. I have worked with children of all ages for over 10 years and have experience working with adopted children, neurodivergent children, and children with varying disabilities. I have worked as an Assistant Psychotherapist, Therapeutic Support Worker, Summer Camp Manager, and Gymnastics Coach.

I’m really passionate about child mental health. School, exams, difficulties with peers, as well as all of the changes happening in the brain and body can easily feel overwhelming for children. I believe that supporting them through these difficult times can be completely transformational. I have had my own mental health struggles and I remember how confusing and isolating it felt when I was younger. I can combine my own experience and my knowledge from my academic and professional background to really understand what it’s like to be a child with anxiety. I will always be empathetic and non-judgemental and I will do my best to help, whatever the issue.

In my spare time I love to do puzzles, play video games, read, and play with my dog. I like to travel and explore different landscapes and cultures and try to recreate all of the amazing food at home. Having lots of hobbies and ways to relax really helps me unwind after busy days.
