Question from a concerned parent

I'm a young person. Who can I go to, except my parents, for help in addressing my anxiety? I had a score of 15 on the test (which checks out based on my day to day life) and I was just wondering.

Answer from Anxend experts

Hi, thank you for your question, it is a brave thing to reach out and ask for help.
I am sorry that you are struggling with the issues that you describe.
Have you tried to speak with your parents? The situation that you describe must be difficult to keep from them. Do they already know?

At Anxend, we specifically work with anxiety but understand the issues that cause it and work to make going to school easier, improving your anxiety and self-esteem.
We would need to work with, or at least have an agreement to work with you, from your parents for us to be able to help you. We have coaches for both you and the parents and will provide you with a safe space to talk without worrying about anyone listening in. They are completely confidential and private, and they will also be offered to your parents if you decide this is the best option for you.

There are other options available to you.
Have you spoken with your school? Do you have a teacher that you trust who could start to help you there?
You could talk to your GP.
Do you have any other trusted adults that you could talk to?

We do understand that you may not feel comfortable doing this, so we recommend charities such as Mind https://www.mind.org.uk/need-urgent-help/using-this-tool/ or the Samaritans call: 116 123 or email: jo@samaritans.org if you need someone to talk to.
